Yamaha FS800

Rating: 4.5 / 5

The FG800's smaller concert-body sibling. Same solid top and value, in a more comfortable size with a sweeter, more balanced voice.

The comfortable solid-top acoustic

The FS800 is the concert-size version of the FG800: same solid spruce top and excellent Yamaha build, but a smaller, more contoured body that many players — especially smaller-framed ones — find far more comfortable. The voice is a touch sweeter and more balanced, with a little less low-end boom than the dreadnought.

If the FG800 feels too big, this is the one to buy — equally great value.
